The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) plans to put up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in all of its toll expressways to revive the once-booming EV.
“We all know this technology is still fresh… No investor is investing or buying EV or e-cars but we will pave the way (by) installing (at least one) EV charging station in our expressways,” MPT Mobility vice president for Business Development Mark de Leon said in a virtual presser on Thursday.
“We will also pursue installing charging stations in parking lots. There’s an opportunity where office workers can charge in parking lots,” he added.
De Leon is a former Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure.
The MPTC, on Thursday, launched MPT Mobility, a venture that provides mobility solutions using digital technology. The spin-off follows months of preparation and will house all of MPTC’s non-toll related enterprises.
