At least five senatorial candidates were included in three rival presidential slates.

Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Sen. Joel Villanueva, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, Sen. Richard Gordon and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri were named in the official senatorial list of running mates Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilanan.

The five senatorial candidates were also part of the slate of Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III, who are running as president and vice president, respectively.

While Sen. Manny Pacquaio who also filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for president, included Escudero, Villanueva, Binay, Gordon and Zubiri in his senatorial slate.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon who is with the campaign team of Robredo-Pangilinan tandem, said it was agreed that the five candidates will not endorse any candidate for president and vice president.

“Our agreement with the people that we talked to was that alright, since we expect you to be candidates in many tickets, don’t endorse anyone. Yes, we will help you but we would like to suggest at the very minimum, you will not endorse any candidate for president so that you will stay as a guest candidate of a number of parties or groupings, because that’s the reality that we faced today,” Drilon said.
