Omega Esports barely broke a sweat in its clinical 2-0 demolition of TNC to punch a ticket into the playoffs of MPL Season 8 Friday evening.

Omega’s dominating win pushed the squad at the no. 4 spot with 16 aggregate points, tied with RSG and Echo. The squad will take on Blacklist International tomorrow, then Nexplay EVOS over the weekend.

“I think we have a really good mix right now that we would give the remaining teams a good match. I predict a 2-1 win over Blacklist International and Nexplay EVOS,” said Omega Mobile Legends coach Pakbet after the match.

Dictating the match after a convincing Game 1 win, Omega’s Ch4knu, E2MAX, Renzio, Kelra, and Raizen brought out Phoveus, Chou, Ling, Zi Long, and Luo Yi against TNC’s Khufra, Lunox, Hayabusa, Thamuz, and Nana.

Omega looked deadly in the early going as Ch4knu and E2MAX combined for Raizen’s Ling to get a 4/0/1 KDA in six minutes. Omega was ahead on kills, 12-6, gold by 4,000, and turrets destroyed, 5-2, six minutes more into the game.

Omega broke all turrets on top and bottom with the lord on their side, leaving just the third tier turret in the middle to defend the TNC side. The underdogs held their ground, forcing Omega for another lord take at the 16:00 mark.

It was all but officially over from there as Omega heroes made a hard push on top while minions helped destroy TNC’s last remaining tower in the middle before ending the series once and for all a minute later.

Meanwhile, fan-favorite NXPE crushed RSG PH, 2-0, earlier.

The squad currently owns the no.3 spot with a 6-7 standing and 21 aggregate points.

With just one game left in the group stage, NXPE secured of seat in the playoffs.
