SLALOM champion Milo Rivera emerges atop in PRO Class’ Race 3.

A fiercer and more exciting racing action kicked off as the GITI — Formula V1 Race Challenge recently sizzled back on the grid after a year of hiatus.

Backed by a number of sponsors, including Phoenix Fuels and GITI-Tires, the Tuason Racing School-ran motorsport event started the first round of its series at the Clark International Speedway with a total of 10 racers competing in two classes.

The AM Class saw intense competition with Nuzest Racing Team’s Cesco Dino, Phoenix Pulse Racing Team’s Aira Medrano and Joaquin Garrido, Julian Colvin Tang of Toyota Marilao Obengers Racing Team, and Autoholic Raceform’s Julian Neri and Sebastien Soto battling it out on the track.

Meanwhile, four drivers were pitted in the PRO Class with the likes of Growl-Thule Racing Team’s Jussi Hoikka, Toyota Marilao Obengers Racing Team’s Daniel Miranda, Red Diwa of OTR Racing Team and Milo Rivera of Frontrow Racing Team thrown into the fray.

The race started with Daniel Miranda and Milo Rivera jostling for the top position in Races 1 and 2 wherein the former emerged, taking over the helm in both races. However, slalom champion Rivera made a stunning comeback in Race 3. Growl Thule Racing Team’s Hoikka, meanwhile, took Race 4, clinching the top spot.

For the AM Class, Obengers Racing Team’s Julian Colvin Tang showed his amazing skills as he took the top spot from Races 1 to 3 before Phoenix Pulse Racing Team’s Joaquin Garrido managed to secure the title in Race 4.

After the action-packed first round, the next races will take place on 20 and 27 October, wherein spectators can watch the broadcasts on Tuason Racing’s Facebook page.
