Blacklist beats NXPE, Bren avenges loss to TNC on Week 6 Day 2 of MPL 8

Defending MPL Season 7 champion Blacklist International kept their unbeaten streak following a 2-1 victory over Nexplay EVOS on Week 6 Day 2 of MPL Season 8.

Blacklist was off to a good start by winning Game 1 but the fan-favorite NXPE bit back and won Game 2.

The champions then drafted Rafaela, Yi Sun-Shin, Chou, Phoveus, and Natan for Game 3, while NXPE took Paquito, Lancelot, Yve, Harith, and Grock.

It was a back and forth action with both teams getting 12 kills each and scored their objectives, respectively.

In the end, OHEB’s Natan proved too much for the fan favorites as he ended the match with a 6/0/6 KDA.

The Tier One Entertainment-backed squad now holds an 11-0 standing with 28 aggregate points as NXPE dropped to 4-7 with 15 aggregate points.

“I am just super proud of them because win or lose, they always give their all,” said Tier One boss Alodia Gosengfiao after the match.

“They remain humble and are amazing people behind the scenes.”

MPL Season 6 and M2 Mobile Legends world champion Bren Esports, meanwhile, avenged their loss Week 2 loss over TNC.

TNC started the match by winning Game 1, only to see Bren score the next two games for a reverse sweep.

Bren currently sits in a make or break position at no.6 with a 5-6 standing, while TNC is at the very bottom of the league with an 8-14 record.

Omega Esports also ended their losing streak with a 2-0 sweep over Echo.
