Senator Risa Hontiveros formalized her reelection bid on Friday after filing her Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) for senator in the 2022 national elections.
Hontiveros arrived at the Sofitel Garden Tent in Pasay City at around 12:00 p.m. after visiting her mobile clinic and Malate Catholic Church earlier in the day.
In seeking fresh mandate in the Senate, Hontiveros recounted her years of legislative work and vowed to continue advocating for women’s rights, fight corruption and address the ongoing coronavirus pandemic if reelected.
Hontiveros will run under her party-list Akbayan. She will also be adopted as a guest candidate by the opposition party Liberal Party.
The lawmaker is currently serving her first term in the Senate after winning in the 2016 National Elections after her third try.
