Best Actor of the 2020 Asian Academy Awards, Arjo Atayde, brings to life anew the Cattleya Killer in the upcoming ABS-CBN retelling of the 1996 film Sa Aking Mga Kamay.
The film, which originally starred Aga Muhlach, follows a handsome serial killer who preys on unfaithful wives. He places a cattleya flower on their bodies after murdering them. It will be adapted as a series with the title The Rebirth of the Cattleya Killer.
“I’m very thankful and overwhelmed. First of all, no matter what I do, tito Aga is tito Aga. He’s done this role and has received awards for this as well. I can’t do what he did but I can only try my best” Atayde said.
The Rebirth of the Cattleya Killer will be directed by award-winning filmmaker Dan Villegas under ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production.

It has also been selected as one of the participants in the 2021 Full Circle Series Lab by Matthieu Darras and Izabela Igel with the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
“Hopefully, the Cattleya Killer could be one if not the possible door to ABS-CBN stepping into the foreign industry,” Atayde added.
The film’s all-star cast and premiere date has yet to be announced. Production is reported to start within the year.
Atayde came into controversy in August for breaching health protocols while shooting a movie in Baguio. He last appeared in the action-drama series 24/7 (2020) with Julia Montes and JC Santos.
