Senator Christopher “Bong” Go continues to provide support to communities in distress all around the country.

Go also reiterated his appeal to Filipinos to participate in the national vaccination program in order to attain population protection and herd immunity soon.

In his video message in two separate distribution activities at Barangays Hizon and Pampanga, Davao City on Saturday, 25 September, Go reaffirmed that the government is continuously getting sufficient vaccines for all qualified Filipinos as he encouraged the public to get vaccinated immediately once eligible to increase their protection against the coronavirus.

Go pushed the beneficiaries or their loved ones with health concerns to take advantage of the medical assistance programs available in the Malasakit Center located at Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Part of his commitment as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography is to provide Filipinos convenient access to a quality healthcare system which is why the Senator pushed for the enactment of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.

The law directs the establishment of a Malasakit Center in every hospital run by the Department of Health and in the Philippine General Hospital to ensure that poor and indigent patients get the medical assistance they need.

Meanwhile, Go’s team organized the relief efforts for a total of 1,000 struggling residents. In addition, some beneficiaries brought home new pairs of shoes and bicycles that they can use.

Go also sent computer tablets to select recipients to aid their children during their classes under the blended learning set-up.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development gave financial assistance to each beneficiary to support them with their basic needs while the Department of Agriculture provided fresh vegetables.

The Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Labor and Employment determined qualified recipients for their respective livelihood programs. Lastly, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority gave scholarship grants to chosen individuals based on their assessment.

To help the community recover from the challenges brought about by the global pandemic, Senator Go, who also serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, supported the concreting of footbridges in Brgy. Tibungco and the construction of drainage in Brgy. Mahayag. He likewise helped in the acquisition of ambulance units for Brgys. Gatungan, Mintal and Buhangin; improvement of roads, multipurpose buildings, and drainage systems in various barangays; and many others.

Go expressed his gratitude towards Representatives Paolo Duterte and Vincent Garcia, Mayor Sara Duterte, Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, and other local and barangay officials for giving all necessary support to their constituents especially during these challenging times.
