Worlds 2021, the grandest stage of League of Legends (LoL) Esports, will be unfolding in Europe this October.

According to LoL Esports, Riot Games had formally announced that the Worlds 2021 will be held in Iceland from 5 October to 6 November.

Originally planned to be held in China, the tournament has been moved to Iceland due to the uncertainties brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“After close collaboration with European authorities and Riot Games’ trusted risk assessment and safety partners, Worlds 2021 is headed to Reykjavik,” Riot said in a statement.

“The biggest, most prestigious competitive esports event of the year will kick off on 5 October and end with the finals on 6 November in the newly refurbished Hall A at the Laugardalshöll indoor sporting arena.”
