When the coronavirus pandemic hit, life all around the world was put to a sudden halt. We had no choice but to stay home, not knowing what to do with our lives anymore. Despite the gravity of the situation, people still found a way to keep themselves busy at home. Many hobbies and interests were sparked since most people finally had the time to do things that they originally did not have much time for. But as the pandemic continues, it becomes harder to get by each day because of increasing uncertainty and anxiety.

The situation has driven some people to pay more attention to their health for many different reasons
— either to stay on top of their health, to get physically toned or just to keep themselves busy in the midst of all this madness. Take it from some celebrities who rose to the occasion and started their fitness journey during the pandemic.

Actress Camille Prats-Yambao turned lockdown around when she and her husband VJ Yambao, started their fitness journey in March 2020. The couple decided to get into fitness when they were stuck at home like the rest of the world, with nothing much to do. According to the actress, they did not have time to exercise during pre-pandemic days but when the country was put into lockdown, they did not have an excuse anymore. Well, hard work does pay off because the pair looks fit and healthy!

Pauleen Luna-Sotto also began her long overdue fitness journey in February this year. Four years after giving birth to her daughter, Tali, the actress and TV host achieved her pre-baby body through a healthy lifestyle and consistent effort to get up and move. Her workout is mostly composed of indoor cycling and Pilates, together with a healthy diet. The actress flaunts her hard-earned fit body every now and then on her Instagram account, as she should!

Writer and former actress Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio is also making this pandemic productive for her health and wellness. After spending the first six months of the pandemic in the United States, she returned to the Philippines in September 2020 and kickstarted her fitness journey. She started doing yoga and then got into
jump-roping. Rica is leading a successful fitness journey so far and she looks good!

This pandemic has not been easy for anyone, but there is always a silver lining to it. These ladies are a testament that anything can be achieved through hard work and discipline; and that there is no such thing as perfect timing to lead a healthier life because anytime is the right time. Although just because it worked for them, it doesn’t mean it has to work that way for you, too. We are different individuals with different needs.
