Julie Ann San Jose’s “hunger for learning” brought her to Mindanao, the first leg of Limitless: A Musical Trilogy — an online special which premieres on 17 September on GMA.
In part 1 of the show, dubbed “Breathe,” the multitalented performing artist explored the hidden gems of Mindanao and, in the process, discovered more things about herself.
“I’m sharing a piece of my heart. I don’t think I’ve ever been this vulnerable and open to people through a show. You always see me through my work or TV show, but I feel like, for the first time, you will see me as ‘me’ in Limitless,” said the 27-year-old singer, songwriter, musician, dancer and actor.
“Every day is a learning experience for me and I always have a hunger for learning and honing my talents,” she added.
In “Breathe,” she met locals in different parts of Mindanao and learned about their culture and values: “What really made an impact on me was connecting with them. They told us how grateful they were, that of all places we could have gone to, we went to them.”
Joining her on the show are Christian Bautista and The Clash alumnus Jong Madaliday.
Bautista has worked with San Jose in concerts and TV shows including The Clash, the reality singing competition that has discovered Madaliday, a North Cotabato native.
Creative director is Paolo Valenciano. Musical director is Myke Salomon (Rak of Aegis, Huling El Bimbo). Director of photography is JC Gellidon.
It is produced by GMA Synergy, the team behind Alden’s Reality: The Virtual Reality Concert, a finalist at the 2021 New York Festivals Awards.
Limitless viewers may purchase tickets specific for each leg or avail of the ticket bundle for the three legs.
