Beermen secure quarterfinals seat

San Miguel Beer clobbered Phoenix, 110-80, to formalize its entry in the quarterfinals of the 46th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga on Friday.
The Beermen picked up their sixth win in nine games to occupy the fifth seat in the next round.
CJ Perez exploded for 24 points, grabbed five rebounds and added four assists for SMB while big men June Mar Fajardo and Moala Tautuaa combined for 37 markers.
Veteran forward Arwind Santos also finished with 16 points, seven boards and three blocks for the Beermen.
The Fuel Masters, meanwhile, are yet to determine their playoff chances as they ended their elimination campaign with a 4-7 slate.
Jason Perkins led Phoenix in scoring with 18 points and nine boards, while Chris Banchero added 13 markers.
