Additional policemen have been deployed in Pasay City as it braced for the implementation of Alert Level for in the National Capital Region (NCR) as per the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said they have also mobilized staff from Public Order and Safety Unit, traffic, Pasay City Environmental Natural Resources Office.
The mayor said even barangay officials were deputized to check or even apprehend violators if necessary.
“Our Enforcement and Inspection Team are roaming around to inspect establishments for possible violation of protocol in consonance with Alert Level 4,” said Mayor Emi.
The lady mayor said they are fully supportive of the recommendation of the IATF to place Metro Manila under Alert Level 4 quarantine classification, noting that her city is prepared to help hasten the downslide of coronavirus cases in the country.
According to the lady mayor, they will not have a hard time adjusting even if their city and the entire NCR are placed under Alert Level 4 since they have previous experience in implementing the system.
“We are ready because we have already implemented this kind of lockdown before. If there is a need to lockdown it for example a house or a compound, we will lockdown it,” said the mayor.
She added that as part of their preparations, they already produced information graphics to be posted on the city’s official online pages even as they are also utilizing public address system of every barangay for their information dissemination campaign.
