Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna broke ground on Monday the latest city government housing project that is the 20-storey San Sebastian Residences in Quiapo intended to house some informal settlers and renters in the city’s third district.
According to the mayor, the city government will not stop in giving dignity to those in need while also addressing other concerns.
“There will be no informal settler in Manila when the time comes. God has mercy. Other countries have done it, we can do it here in Manila,” Domagoso said.
The statement of Domagoso was echoed by Manila City Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan as she said that having an own house increases the dignity of the people.
“We recognize the right of every individual to have a safe, decent and affordable home that they can call their own because it upholds human dignity,” she said.
The San Sebastian Residences will cater about 243 families in its 40 square meters unit.
It will have the following amenities: 243 residential units, 58 parking slots, health center, police substation, four elevator for residential units, swimming pool, function room, fitness center, roof garden at 20th floor roof deck, three units rentable space, activity areas on 6th, 10th and 14th floors, roof deck play area on 18th floor and roof garden.
Meanwhile Moreno announces the approval for the construction of city’s eight hospital inside the densely populated Baseco community.
Moreno added that he will make more housing just after the completion of town houses and soon to finish big playground for the children.
The said hospital will start its construction on October with three floors which will include police headquarters in it.
