DAVAO CITY – Barangay Catalunan Grandre in this city has kicked off on Saturday its vaccination drive in coordination with the offices of the local city government and the First Congressional District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte.
The barangay — headed by Punong Barangay January N. Duterte — opened a vaccination hub to facilitate the inoculation of Covid-19 vaccines to its unvaccinated constituents and other residents from neighboring barangays.
The program also aims to help the city reach its goal for herd immunity by speeding up vaccination drives and making it more accessible to its community.
City Health Office (CHO) rural health physician Dr. Ely Buenaventura said that Catalunan Grande was the first barangay in the city to roll out the Sinopharm vaccines and added that the newly-opened vaccination hub targets 500 people to get vaccinated per day.
Buenaventura also said that the barangay prepared around 100 personnel, 22 of which are registered nurses and three physicians who will facilitate the entire process and administer the vaccination to individuals.
Duterte’s office, meantime, said that the 461 individuals, who earlier registered, received their first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine.
