Kim Jun-ho is transitioning from sports to showbiz.

The South Korean fencing gold medalist recently signed an exclusive contract with Haewadal Entertainment, home to Secret Garden star Ha Ji-won.

The 27-year-old athlete won the gold medal in the men’s division team saber tournament at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He drew attention for his good looks.

Kim, with other Korean fencers Kim Jung-hwan, Koo Bon-gil and Oh Sang-wook, became known as the “F4 players” and “The Avengers” in Tokyo.

“I will try to promote fencing more widely by working as an active fencer, as well as various activities in the entertainment industry,” Kim said during the contract signing.

“We are happy to join Kim Jun-ho’s new journey. He has a lot of potential as an entertainer, and we will actively support his broadcasting activities with professional management capabilities,” said Heewadal’s representative.

After the Olympics, Kim was seen guesting on Korean TV shows.

Kim first played football in primary school, but was obliged to take up fencing as a requirement in middle school.

In 2011, he broke his right knee during a competition.

Fortunately, he made it to the South Korean national team and won the gold.
