The President’s chief legal counsel, Secretary Salvador Panelo, enjoined aspiring public servants to be part of the government workforce as the country battles the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Panelo trumpeted the Government Online Career Fair set from 20 to 24 September in celebration of the 121st anniversary of the Philippine civil service now being overseen by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
He said working in government is fulfilling as it entails public service.
The job fair is being undertaken by the CSC in partnership with JobStreet, Panelo said in his online talk show “Counterpoint.”
Government agencies with vacancies to fill may register from 5 to 25 August 2021 by visiting the CSC website, www.csc.gov.ph.
Panelo said government agencies from any region may identify and prioritize critical job vacancies and identify their specific requirements for applicants.
Jobseekers, on the other hand, may file their applications online with their selected agencies where they may also submit the requirements.
The CSC said it encourages application from qualified interested persons, including persons with disabilities, members of indigenous communities, and those with any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
Panelo said this year’s government online career fair aims to market highly qualified civil service candidates to government agencies.
He said it will promote access to employment opportunities in government service which job seekers from all over the nation and abroad may access online.
There are no registration fees.
