The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) on Wednesday evening unveiled its initial list of senatorial candidates for the 2022 May Elections.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III, NPC President, bared the first 10 names in their roster composed of re-electionists, first-time candidates and veteran lawmakers who are seeking fresh mandates in the chamber.
The names included former Senator JV Ejercito, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero and incumbent Senators Win Gatchalian, Joel Villanueva, Juan Miguel Zubiri and Richard Gordon.
Also on the list are DICT Secretary Gringo Honasan, lawyer Goyo Larrazabal, House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda and Leyte Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez.
The lineup will be under the tandem of Senator Ping Lacson and Sotto who earlier confirmed that they will gun for Presidency and Vice Presidency in the next year’s elections, respectively.
The Senate leader said the NPC will hold a national consultation for party members on 28 July where the lineup is expected to be finalized.
“I’ll be consulting with my party mates regarding my candidacy with Ping and lineup on the 28th,” Sotto said.
