Following the tragic crash of a C-130 military plane in Patikul, Sulu, Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte and ACT-CIS Representative and Benguet Caretaker Congressman Eric Yap extended assistance to the families of soldiers and civilians who died along with those who were injured.
The lawmakers donated at least P5 million as an immediate financial assistance to the grieving families amid the tragic incident.
Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte and ACT-CIS party-list lawmaker Eric Yap turned over the financial aid to the Armed Forces headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo.
The C-130 — which came from Cagayan de Oro City — was bringing troops to Sulu when it crashed before noon last week after missing the runway in Barangay Bangkal in Patikul.
A total of 50 soldiers and three civilians died in the incident. Armed Forces chief General Cirilito Sobejana said 16 of the 50 soldiers killed have already been identified.
Meanwhile, 46 servicemen and four civilians were injured.
