United City ended its AFC Champions League campaign with a 0-4 loss at the hands of Daegu FC in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Sunday.

The four-time Philippine Football League champion club finished its action-packed journey in third place of Group I with four points off a 1-4-1 win-loss-draw card.

Despite an early exit, UCFC still made history as the first Filipino football club to ever pull off a victory in the ACL stage, bagging a 3-2 win over Beijing Guoan FC on Thursday.

Down 0-1 in the first half, the Filipino side found it hard to keep up with Daegu’s offensive barrage as the Koreans slotted three more goals from Lee Keun-ho, Edgar da Silva and Chi-in Jeong to finish off UCFC.

Daegu’s win punched the squad a ticket to the second round of the prestigious tournament.
