Taiwan-based International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) in the Philippines have always lent a helping hand to our fellow Filipino brothers and sisters in need. Actions taken by those INGOs truly show we are the world and Taiwan Can Help.

The Fo Guang Shan Foundation, Inc. (FGS Foundation, Inc)

The FGS Foundation, in partnership with International Buddhist Progress Society (IBPS) and Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA), is an international Buddhist organization which has been active in various charitable initiatives in the country since its establishment in the Philippines in 1989.  These initiatives have reflected Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Three Acts of Goodness: Do Good Deeds, Speak Good Words, & Think Good thoughts; together with Four Givings: To Give Others Confidence, Joy, Hope and Convenience.

Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines

In 1991, founder of the Taiwan-based Tzu Chi Foundation, Master Cheng Yen received The Magsaysay Community Leadership Award from the Philippine Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation, which paved way to the exposure of the Master’s compassion to the Philippines. Tzu Chi Foundation, Philippines was inaugurated on November 8, 1994. Its liaison offices were established in locations such as Cebu and Zamboanga. Its missions include charity, education, environmental protection, humanity and medicine, like the Tzu Chi Eye Center in Santa Mesa, Metro Manila.

Due to drastic changes in schooling models under COVID-19, TFCF Philippines has been providing educational supplies for families in need.

Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF)

The TFCF provides support to vulnerable children and their families in Taiwan and worldwide. More than 120,000 children, youth, and families benefited from the services in 35 countries. Since its SEC accreditation in the Philippines in 2019, the TFCF has conducted programs nationwide, such as Clean Water Program, Educational Supplies Program, Vocational Training, Early Childhood Development Program, Housing Support Program, etc. The beneficiaries have reached up to 10,000 people since 2019.
