A woman with physical deformities suffers pain and cruelty from people around her. She creates a beauty product, but an influential family plots to steal it. She is manipulated into falling in love and ends up in jail.

If you’re the woman, how far will you go to demand justice? Or would you rather seek revenge?

That’s the premise of the new drama series La Vida Lena, which stars Erich Gonzales as Magda, the woman subjected to so much injustice that the audience will cheer her on if she gets even through vengeance.

La Vida Lena was first seen on iWantTFC, but the show’s creators wanted to expand the story.

At the video conference for media, director Jojo Saguin explained that La Vida Lena is no ordinary revenge story. He said it’s also a heartwarming tale about family and how the universe acts against the protagonist’s adversaries through karma.

Co-director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng added that the show’s antagonists are unlike the typical kontrabida. For instance, there are scenes between Janice de Belen and Agot Isidro that the audience should look forward to.

Janice said the show has a number of “campy scenes. We actually had fun doing it while we were playing with the lines to see what works.”

Agot pointed out that she and Janice play characters that are completely opposite to their real selves.

Erich said she easily fell in love with the show’s concept especially since it’s her first time to play such a character as Magda.
