Order of Sikatuna conferred to late Indonesian envoy to Phl

The late Ambassador Sarundajang tirelessly worked to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation of Philippines and Indonesia in the areas of maritime security, combating international terrorism, connectivity, trade, industry and tourism.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the posthumous conferment of the Order of Sikatuna on the late Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines Dr. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang in recognition of his achievements and efforts in strengthening Philippines-Indonesia bilateral relations.

Ambassador Sarundajang passed away last 13 February.

Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong Wee presented the Order of Sikatuna (Grand Cross, with Gold Distinction) to Ambassador Sarundajang’s widow, Deetje Adeline Laoh Tambuwun, at a ceremony held on 12 June at the chancery of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta.

The late Ambassador Sarundajang tirelessly worked to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation of Philippines and Indonesia in the areas of maritime security, combating international terrorism, connectivity, trade, industry and tourism.

The Grand Cross (rank of Datu) with Gold Distinction is the highest category of the Order of Sikatuna that may be conferred upon a foreign dignitary/diplomat who is not a former/incumbent Head of State.
