The local government of Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental has placed the entire barangay Poblacion under localized lockdown from 15 to 29 June to contain the local transmission of Covid-19 in the said municipality.

Mayor Gomer Sabio, in an Executive Order, declared the entire territorial jurisdiction of barangay Poblacion under localized lockdown and focused containment to address and mitigate the impact of the contagion in the area.

He said the entire barangay has been categorized as critical zone and placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for 14 days.

The town of Tagoloan is the second town in MisOr to impose strict quarantine despite the declaration of President Duterte that the province has been placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

On Monday, President Duterte has declared that in Northern Mindanao, only Cagayan de Oro city, the capital of the province, was earlier placed under modified enhance community quarantine (MECQ) until 30 June.

Cagayan de Oro city however is an independent component city under direct administrative control of the Office of the President.

On Saturday, the Mayor of Gingoog has declared the entire city under MECQ.

Mayor Erick Canosa in an executive order upgraded the city quarantine status from MGCQ to MECQ effective 16 to 30 June even before President Duterte officially announced the quarantine status of LGUs across the country next week.

The mayor issued the executive order after Secretary Deflin Lorenzana told him that the National Covid Task Force has approved his request to place the city under stricter quarantine status.
