Alex Eala and Oksana Selekhmeteva of Russia enter the 2021 French Open girls doubles finals after a 6-2, 6-1 trashing on defending champions Eleonora Alvisi and Lisa Pigato of Italy in the semifinals at the Stade Roland Garros early Saturday.
Eala and Selekhmeteva only needed 53 minutes to play to dethrone the defending champions and set up a finals match between the eight-seed pair of Russian Maria Bondarenko and Amarissa Kiara Toth for all the marbles.
Eala is aiming for her second Grand Slam title after winning the Australian Open girls doubles tournament last year with Priska Nugroho of Indonesia.
Tied at 2-2 in the opening set, the world No. 3 and world No. 10 player zoomed for a four-game run to take first blood.
The W25 Platja D’Aro finalists made sure to seal the deal, winning four straight games in the second set after holding a 2-1 advantage.
