Filipino pro DOTA 2 player Carlo “Kuku” Palad led his South Korean team T1 to a spot at The International 10 following a 2-0 win over Team Aster in the upper bracket WePlay AniMajor this Wednesday evening.
“I’m very happy for my team because it’s the first time for four of our players,” said the former TNC standout after the match.
“We know that we need to win this series to qualify for TI but my coach and I kept saying to my teammates not to mind the result and let’s just play it game after game.”
The win gave T1 a total of 970 DPC (DOTA pro circuit) points, making them the fourth team to qualify for the grandest stage of competitive esports together with Evil Geniuses, Invictus Gaming, and Virtus.pro.
The International 10 holds the record for having the largest prize in esports with over $40,000,000 in prize pool.
