ZAMBOANGA CITY — Authorities in Pagadian City seized 19 master cases of imported and smuggled cigarettes with an estimated market value of P570,000 that were about to delivered at a government-run public market in the city.
Police Regional Office (PRO-9) director Police Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan said that the imported leave products were intercepted by members of the Pagadian City Police Station at Barangay Buenavista, Pagadian City last 2 June.
Police also arrested Almujir Jul Masihol, Alwaler Gadjamil Jakirani and Al-Shaiff Gadjamil Jakirani.
The law enforcers also found in the possession of Masihol a caliber .45 pistol with serial number 518163.
According to Bureau of Customs Zamboanga City District Collector Segundo Barte Jr., the suspects will be facing charges for violation of executive order 245 or the “Amended Rules & Regulations Governing the Exportation and Importation of Tobacco and Tobacco Products” and Section 117 and 1113 paragraphs a and f and of RA 10863 otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act of 2016.
