A man and his nephew were shot to death while a couple who was also inside the house were injured when two unidentified men barged into their house in Tondo, Manila on Monday night.
The fatalities were identified as Raymond Tington and his nephew Obet Tington, both residents of Barangay 146, Balut, Tondo. Those injured were Obet’s parents identified by the police as “Popoy” and “Bebeng.”
The suspects are now the subject of a police manhunt.
Based on the investigation by the Manila Police District Homicide section, the shooting happened as the victims were soundly sleeping in their residence. The assailants entered the house at 2 a.m. and, upon seeing the victims, directly fired at them.
It was learned Raymond was hit in the head, while Obet was shot on the left portion of the body, killing them instantly.
The suspects also shot Obet’s parent named “Popoy,” who sustained a bullet wound in the chest, and “Bebeng” who was hit in the legs.
“Popoy” allegedly tried to subdue the suspects but they managed to flee.
The couple were brought to Tondo Medical Center and are now in stable condition.
Based on information from barangay officials, Raymond was involved in the illegal sale of drugs and was once caught in the barangay closed-circuit television engaged in a firefight in the area.
