Got a love story to share?
Write your best kilig narrative — real or imagined — through a new contest that Bookshelf PH has just launched. This is not just the usual contest where winners get prizes and trophies. Instead, “Kilig to the Books” will give authors the opportunity to see their beloved characters come to life through a professionally recorded and produced audiobook.
“Kilig to the Books” is looking for the best romance-fiction authors who can submit 2,000 to 20,000-word short stories. Winners will be granted a full audiobook production package, which includes manuscript development and preparation, recording at a top-of-the-line studio, casting of professional voice actors and distribution through Bookshelf PH’s upcoming line of audiobooks.
Bookshelf PH’s definition of romance fiction is broad. Contest entries can be of any sub-genres, including contemporary romance, romantic comedy, historical romance, speculative romance, inspirational romance, young adult and more. The works can also be written in English, Taglish or Filipino.
All writers experienced with any platform are encouraged — from Wattpad and pocketbook authors to undergraduate and graduate writing students.
Send entries to
[email protected] till 21 June. Early submissions are strongly encouraged — winners will be notified through email and publicly announced on Bookshelf PH’s Facebook page.
There is no preference between unpublished and previously published work, though if the short story falls into the latter category, authors are encouraged to confirm that they hold the audiobook rights before submitting.
