BAGUIO CITY — The city government of Tabuk in the province of Kalinga has launched its state-of-the-art Command and Monitoring Center on Monday at the Tabuk City Hall compound in Dagupan Centro.

Tabuk City Administrator Arnold Tenedero said that the command center — located at the youth hub building — is seen to help the city government to formulate better enforcement of policies and ordinances, traffic management system and crime deterrence.

He noted that the facility is equipped with high definition surveillance system which can help improve the city’s crime and disaster response.

The command and monitoring center was financed from the 20 percent of the City’s Development Fund and was started in the year 2020 and according to Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban, the system will greatly help law enforcers and disaster response units.

The high-definition CCTV cameras and other equipment were installed by WebTech Company at the strategic locations in the different parts of the city which can be accessed by the hospital, police station and fire station among other law enforcement and government response agencies.

Two communication towers in the city were also established to ensure the smooth flow of information and communication.

Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, on the other hand, said more CCTV cameras are on the way to be installed on many areas of Tabuk City especially at rural barangays, adding that setting up more cameras will boost the city’s capability in pre-empting untoward incidents and deter crimes in the city.

He also said the system will also empower city in safeguarding its borders.
