Chasing dreams with 88rising

88rising artists Warren Hue, Rich Brian and NIKI.

What does it take to find success in the City of Angels?

This has been highlighted in the fresh track “California” featuring 88rising artists NIKI and Rich Brian with Warren Hue.

These Indonesia-hailed trio talks about “money makin’” while they are “breakin’” — their anxiety-filled, restless journey to achieve success in their newfound home in. Los Angeles, California.

“This song is about three Indonesian kids that managed to chase their dreams. Whether it’s acting, being a scientist or an architect or both, it’s all attainable. In this case, NIKI, Warren and I attained the same thing and that is making a career in California, which comes with its highs and lows,” Rich Brian said in a statement.

The accompanying music video shows the trio’s Asian-American life in California suburbia; candid footage of the artists feasting on Asian meals as well as other Asianic aspects like two Asian men playing chess outdoors and someone peeling oranges while sitting on the floor.

“California” is part of 88rising’s upcoming Head in the Clouds III, the third installment of the album series that consist of works from 88rising artists and guests.

The release of this song comes with the announcement of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds music festival which was supposedly slated for 2020.

Head in the Clouds music festival will happen on 6 and 7 November and is set to take place at Brookeside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
