A policeman said to be assigned at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly robbing a money remittance center in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
An initial report released by the San Miguel Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as PCpl. Moises Yango y Flores, 29 years old, married, and residing at the QCPD headquarters in Camp Karingal in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.
At around 3:30 p.m. of 24 May, the San Miguel MPS received a flash alarm regarding a robbery-holdup incident that transpired at a branch of LBC in Barangay Camias in the said town wherein the unidentified suspect was — wearing black bonnet and orange helmet, black long sleeves, and riding on a Yamaha Nmax color black without plate number – was seen fleeing from the scene.
It was then that the Cabanatuan City Police Station got wind of the said alarm which matched the description of their suspect involved in another robbery incident in their area of responsibility.
Joint elements of the San Ildefonso MPS, San Miguel MPS, and Cabanatuan CPS immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
During the body search, confiscated from the suspect was one hand grenade, one 9mm Pietro Beretta with serial no. G42938Z, eight live ammunition, and a wallet containing his PNP ID, driver’s license and other identification cards and ATM cards.
Cash amounting to P5,000 believed to be taken from the earlier robbery was also recovered.
Yango will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9156, or the illegal possession of explosive, in relation to the robbery-holdup incident.
