No rest days for laser-focused Bren Esports ahead of MPL playoffs

Defending MPL champion Bren Esports is laser-focused on beating Blacklist International in the MPL Season 7 playoffs to the point that the team has decided to skip rest days altogether.

The M2 World Champion is responsible for giving Blacklist its lone defeat in the regular season. They are slated to slug it out once more in the upper bracket of the playoffs this Thursday, 27 May at 6:00 PM.

“This week we did not take a break even on weekends. I told them if we want to qualify for MSC we have to play at our best form because we only have two weeks left then MSC is a week after MPL playoffs,” Bren Mobile Legends coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro told Daily Tribune.

“I told them if they want to qualify they have to show their best form and we have to show that in our scrims and training,” he added.

“So we did not really have a break. I set their mindset, on this specific day we have to perform playoffs form. They actually like it better because they are hungry to win. It came from the players to not have a break so that is a good sign that they really want to perform.”

The world champion Mobile Legends coach also shared that his players are raring to face Blacklist once more. He concedes that Blacklist is the top team in the tournament thus far and it is for that reason that they want to beat them.

“What’s more exciting is we are facing Blacklist. The boys are always after the best so they want to prove themselves. They have that mindset.” he said.

Duckeyyy is well aware that beating Blacklist is not a walk in the park though he is convinced that his team’s advantages could get them the win.

“They are excited with our game on Thursday and I think the best of five setup will be our advantage against Blacklist. We have been playing a lot of BO5s in major tournaments,” he pointed out.

“Experience would really be a big factor in those games, especially in the playoffs. Stage freight would be there.”
