The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) was only able to track down 108 of the 496 guests at the Mother’s Day pool party at Gubat sa Ciudad, which went viral for breaking health and safety protocols.
Of the guests who were located by contact tracers, only 72 underwent Covid-19 antigen test.
However, the DILG has still to receive the results of their tests, DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, said.
Malaya admitted contact tracing is difficult in this case due to negligence on the part of the resort’s management that even the information in their logbook or their guest stubs were incomplete.
Groups of people were caught at said resort on Mother’s Day, 9 May, in violation of the provisions of the modified enhanced community quarantine.
The police precinct commander in the area has been removed from his post, while the Barangay 171 chair was earlier charged for the incident, followed by the resort’s owner, general manager and nine others.
