Popular DOTA 2 shoutcaster and founder of LuponWXC Nico ‘KuyaNic’ Nazario, and celebrity gamer Paulo Avelino reacted to criticisms that mobile gamers are not real gamers.
For Avelino, he says that could care less about how others would brand him, while KuyaNic advocated that the gaming community should embrace the ever-evolving world of video games.
“That was our situation before with PC gamers,” said KuyaNic.
“We were not really identified as a job nor taken seriously. We’ve been there. Our point here is, change is inevitable with the rise of mobile gaming.”
One of the most popular if not the most popular video game played in the Philippines right now is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang which draws hundreds of thousands of viewers daily.
For KuyaNic, criticism for mobile gaming is simply not warranted.
“If you fail to adapt, it’s on you. I think there’s no question about it will surely happen eventually. It’s for you to hug what’s going to happen.”
