In order to expand the reach of its Covid inoculation program, the Muntinlupa City local government opened its third Covid vaccination hub in Barangay Alabang.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and Don Ubaldo, Filinvest Alabang vice president, opened the hub last Friday, 30 April.
The city earlier opened two other vaccination centers last month at the SM Center Muntinlupa in Barangay Tunasan and Ayala Malls South Park, also in Barangay Alabang.
The Muntinlupa Health Office reported 511 residents were vaccinated at SM Center Muntinlupa when it opened on 27 April, and another 216 received their jabs at Ayala Malls South Park on 24 April.
The new vaccination center is located at the Filinvest Alabang steel parking area near Festival Mall and Crimson Hotel.
This site can administer daily the vaccine to 500 persons, belonging to the A2 and A3 priority groups, or senior citizens and those with comorbidities, respectively.
The residents received text messages and confirmed their assigned schedule. Walk-ins are not going to be entertained.
Mayor Fresnedi urged Muntinlupa residents who belong to the concerned priority groups to receive the Covid-19 vaccine as this will prevent them from severe illness, hospitalization and death arising from virus.
On the other hand, community vaccination sites in barangays will continue to accommodate residents from different priority groups.
Residents can sign up through Muntinlupa’s Covid-19 Vaccination Registration System at www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac.
For inquiries, Muntinlupa residents may contact the MunCoVac hotline at 0956-358-9228, 0915-805-5932, 0915-806-7419, 0960-588-5935, 0960-588-5937 or 0998-249-4580.
As of 28 April, 22, Muntinlupa residents have received the first dose of the vaccine, with 18,796 getting Sinovac’s CoronaVac and 4,164 taking AstraZeneca’s serum. Another 832 residents belonging to priority groups have already received their second dose.
As of 30 April, Muntinlupa has 11,049 confirmed Covid cases, including 9,552 recoveries and 293 deaths. There are still 1,204 active cases, a decrease of 233 cases, or 16.2 percent, from the 1,437 active cases recorded on 24 April.
