Robin Padilla apologized to Philippine Army colonel Mike Logico for taunting remarks in a video that the actor posted on Facebook regarding the presence of Chinese militia vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

In the video, Padilla dared Senators Francis Pangilinan and Risa Hontiveros, retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, musician Jim Paredes and other personalities to accompany him to sail to the disputed WPS as part of a Philippine militia.

Logico, Director of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Joint and Combined Training Center and former Battalion Commander of the Philippine Army’s 66th Infantry Battalion, responded to Padilla on Facebook: “Call!”

Padilla replied: “Mike Logico, let’s go.”

Logico then proceeded to instruct Padilla to first accomplish three steps: “1. Get a haircut. 2. Apply for MNSA (Master in National Security Administration Program of the National Defense College of the Philippines). I will be your instructor. 3. Apply for CGSC (Command and General Staff College), one the training units of the AFP. I will be your instructor again. 4. If you make it past step 3, you will have the minimum competency to become an RCDG (Regional Community Defense Group) Commander. That will put you in a better position to challenge…”

Padilla softened and issued an apology: “I apologize if in any way I offended you with my video. Sir it’s too late for me to dream and become a highly trained officer like you. If destiny allows it I will just see you there in the high seas not as a foe but a civilian ally…”

Netizens took screenshots of the exchange.
