MIAA appeals to passengers to cancel flight if tested positive for COVID-19

Anthony Ching

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal on Tuesday called on all passengers to refrain from taking their flights if tested positive for Covid-19 virus.

Monreal said as of 15 April 2021, at least 138 individuals were intercepted at different security and airline checkpoints of NAIA terminal 1, 2 and 3 after trying to leave the country despite getting a positive RT-PCR test.

“Let us not take chances. The airport security and airline check-in staff will always check on your requirements and truth will be known in the process,” Monreal said.

At the same time, Monreal assured the public that disinfection of the terminals and facilities is being done and safety protocols are strictly followed.
