65 health workers in Zambo vaccinated with Sinovac experience mild reactions

ZAMBOANGA CITY –  Some medical workers and front liners in this city and in the Zamboanga peninsula have expressed fear for their safety after about 65 of them stationed in the different government hospitals in the region experienced mild adverse reactions after receiving a dose of the Sinovac vaccine.

Regional health officials said some of them have complained of headaches, dizziness, and headedness for a few hours after being vaccinated with the China-made vaccine.

They were discharged after returning to their normal stage, DOH medical officer Dr. Aron Jess Curay said.

DOH-Region 9 reported that as of mid-last week a total of 3,185 medical health workers working  in various private and public hospitals in ZamPen were already vaccinated.

Curay said that for Zamboanga City  Medical Center in this city, a total of 528 were vaccinated, Basilan General Hospital  177, Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center 487, Zamboanga del Sur Medical Hospital 369, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital 450, Sulu Sanitarium 125,  Margosatubig Regional Hospital235, Mindanao Central Sanitarium 2230, Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital 290 and  Labuan Public Hospital 104.

For private hospitals, Brent Hospital 10, Camp Navarro General Hospital10, Ciudad Medical  Zamboanga 40, Western Mindanao Medical Center 100, Universidad de Zamboanga 20,  and Zamboanga Puericulture 10.

The Armed Force of the Philippines- Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WestMinCom)  based in this city reported that many of their medical front liners and personnel expressed willingness to receive the dose.
