Joint anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police’s Drug Enforcement Group and different units of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the neutralization of two of the province’s most notorious drug personalities, authorities reported Saturday.
Reports reaching PNP chief PGen. Debold Sinas identified the slain suspects as Renzeil Sibelius, 32, and Gervin Salbino, 30. They were killed in an encounter with local police forces at around 10:30 p.m. last Friday at Oraan East, Manaoag.
Sibelius and Salbino are said to among the most wanted drug peddlers whose operations cover Pangasinan, Cordillera and even Metro Manila.
Recovered from the scene were one cal.45 pistol with magazine, one Cal .38 revolver with live ammos, fired empty shells, one silver gray Toyota Innova with plate number NAS 7152, and 3kgs of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated value of P360,000.
“The PNP’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs is pursuant to the government’s vision of a drug/crime-free country. We have been succeeding so far as is manifested by a series of successful police operations. We shall not rest until all criminals are brought to justice” Sinas said in a statement.
