The Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court on Friday junked the motion for consideration filed by Senator Leila De Lima after the court earlier dismissed the petition for demurrer to evidence she filed in connection with the drug case where her rumored boyfriend Ronnie Dayan was named as co-accused.
In a two-page resolution, Muntinlupa City RTC branch 205 Presiding Justice Liezel A. Aquiatan said that De Lima and Dayan failed to present evidence to prove their innocence.
“The court stands with its Omnibus Order that accused De Lima and Dayan must present their evidence to prove their innocence of the crime charged,” Aquiatan said.
In an earlier resolution, the court also denied De Lima and Dayan’s petition for bail.
Dayan was accused of collecting money from convicted drug dealers in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on behalf of De Lima.
The same court has earlier granted De Lima’s demurrer to evidence which sought the dismissal of one of the three drug cases against her for insufficiency of evidence.
