Philippine National Police (PNP) chief PGen. Debold Sinas on Thursday led the launching of a project aimed in promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle among members of the 219,000-strong organization.

With the husband-and-wife tandem of Jim and Toni Saret from the Fit Filipino Movement serving as mentors, the police launched the Chubby Anonymous Project – a weight loss program for uniformed personnel categorized as obese.

The campaign’s kickoff was in observance of the World Obesity Day.

Sinas, who disclosed he lost 55 lbs. by sticking to a strict diet and exercise regimen, said the initiative seeks to inspire overweight cops to take up and adhere to an intensive weight loss program to help them better perform their duties and responsibilities as law enforcers.

“The relentless, true-to-form, and honest-to-goodness weight loss program of the PNP leadership, past and present, aims to help our personnel be watchful of their weight because I believe that a weight imbalance caused no less by obesity is definitely not healthy, especially in this time of the pandemic. We should be more cautious of our health and physical well-being”, Sinas said.
