An estimated P1.2 million worth of shabu was confiscated by Makati Police Station personnel in Taguig City on Sunday night.

The Makati City Police Station (MCPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and the Station Intelligence Operatives (SIO) conducted a buy-bust operation along C5 Service Road, Phase 2, Barangay Pinagsamain, Taguig City at 7:30 p.m.

The operation targeted two young men identified as Jose Hernando Llaguno, alias Giboy, 20, and Enzo Dwight Javier, 18, both residents of the area.

When the suspects bit the bait and exchanged orders of a large knot-tied plastic bag of suspected shabu with the buy-bust money, the police immediately handcuffed them.

First recovered from the suspects were P270,000 worth of shabu, 268 pieces of boodle money and two genuine P1,000 bills. However, when the operatives searched their belongings, they discovered about 170 grams of shabu valued at P1.156 million.

National Capital Region Police Office chief P/Maj. Gen. Vicente D. Danao Jr. lauded the MCPS SDEU and SIO for the successful result of the operation.

The suspects are now in the custody of the operating units and will face charges for violating provisions of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
