An old man was found dead in his room in Malabon City yesterday morning.
The Malabon City Police reported the victim’s nephew, Ghershon Santos, 20, went to the rented apartment of his uncle, Lemuel Santos, 74, a widower, at UE Tech Hills Subdivision in Barangay Potrero at 8:30 a.m.
The younger Santos said it seemed as if no one was inside the house because of the silence.
He immediately looked for his uncle and went to his room.
When he got inside the room, he was shocked to see the victim lying on his bed and not moving.
He tried to wake up his uncle, but he failed. He immediately sought help from barangay officials who immediately rushed to the area.
They tried to revive the victim, but he was already dead and could not be rushed to the nearest hospital.
Meanwhile, investigation by Scene of the Crime Operatives said there were no external injuries found on the victim’s body.
The victim’s nephew said his uncle had a mild stroke recently and suffered from heart disease. He was convinced no foul play took place in the incident and that his uncle’s remains will not be subjected to an autopsy.
