Mayor wants only one vaccine passport

If he will have his way, Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco would rather have only one contact tracing application be used nationwide.

In response to a tweet from a netizen who complained getting “dizzy” over the numerous apps on her phone, Tiangco reacted: “Correct! There should have been one app for the whole country.”

The mayor earlier called on the national government to come up with a uniform vaccine passport.

He said this will make it easier for government personnel to determine whether a document is fake of not.

“For the record, I have already requested that only one vaccine passport be issued nationwide,” Tiangco said.

“There are more than 1,500 LGU (local government units) it cannot be per LGU,” he explained. “We will no longer know which one is fake,” he added.
