Pilipinas, umaasa sa long-standing partnership sa US

Malugod na tinanggap ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang inagurasyon ni United States President Joe Biden at umaasa ang Pangulo na magpapatuloy ang “long-standing partnership” sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at ng US sa ilalim ni Biden.
Ayon kay Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, ipinahatid umano ng Pangulo ang kanyang pagbati kay Biden at sa Bise nitong si Kamala Harris, pero wala umano siyang impormasyon kung plano ni Duterte na makipag-usap kay Biden upang pag-usapan ang mga bilateral relations.
“We in the Philippines look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with the United States in working together for a freer, more peaceful world,” sabi ni Roque.
“We’re confident that President Biden will wear his mantle of leadership with pride and with due regard to the hopes and admiration of the rest of the world,” dagdag niya.
Si Biden ang pumalit kay Donald Trump na kilalang mayroong cordial relationship kay Duterte.
Ang envoy ng Pilipinas sa Estados Unidos na si Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez ay naunang magsabi na magkakaroon ng pagkakataon ang Pilipinas na makapag-benefit sa mga immigration policies ni Biden.
Si Biden ay naging Vice President ni Barack Obama.
