The music video of Mang Tomas All-Around Sarsa’s jingle, “Macho Rap,” which features rap artist Gloc-9 and singer Lirah, likewise boasts the appearance of celebrity father and son Benjie and Andre Paras.
Benjie said that shooting the video was a joy because good food was served on location: “In the Paras household, we love how Mang Tomas instantly makes any ulam (viand) special.”
He added that while shooting the video, he found out what makes Mang Tomas an all-around sauce. “I liked the chicken, while Andre liked the liempo (pork). Since they’re freshly cooked, they’re crunchy and then we dip them in Mang Tomas,” Benjie said in Filipino.

As part of Mang Tomas’ new music video, hip-hop icon Gloc-9 smiles in front of the wide variety of food that pairs perfectly with Mang Tomas All-Around Sarsa.
Asked if dubbing along to Gloc-9’s rapid-fire rap was a challenge, Benjie replied that he thought it would be difficult. But it turned out a breeze, he said.
Actor and comedian Kat Galang is also featured as a guest on the video. Her flair for theatrics added punch to the video’s bouncy, happy vibe.
“At first, I was a bit tense due to the presence on the set of the composer and the rapper,” said Kat. “But the directors were very helpful and patient.”
Kat was quick to admit that she sampled all the Mang Tomas dishes available at the shoot.

OPM legend Gloc-9 wears the iconic ‘salakot’ for Mang Tomas’ all new music video.
“Mang Tomas has been my favorite sauce in meals since I was a kid, so collaborating with the brand was such a blessing,” she said. “I could never say no to the free lumpiang shanghai and Mang Tomas combo. This is definitely one of the best productions I’ve worked with!”
To complement the music video, Mang Tomas and NutriAsia launched the #MachoRapChallenge, where the public is encouraged to post their own lip-sync dubs to Gloc-9’s Macho Rap on TikTok.
The #MachoRapChallenge on TikTok has so far gained over 1.7 million views.
But for those willing to go the extra mile, there’s the #MangTomasPinakaMachoRap cover contest. Mang Tomas enthusiasts are invited to upload their cover of Macho Rap on Facebook or YouTube with the hashtag #MangTomasPinakaMachoRap for a chance to win a meet-and-greet with Gloc-9.
Deadline for contest submissions is on 31 January. Winners will be announced on 15 February.
“Macho Rap” is available for streaming on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, and YouTube Music in 240 countries. Follow Mang Tomas on Facebook and Instagram for more details.
