First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte is planning to donate tablets or cellular phones to students in line with the ongoing distance learning amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a statement, Duterte disclosed that the First Congressional District Office is still looking for a supplier who can provide affordable good quality tablets or cellular phones, as these will be heavily used for online learning.
He added that the office will need around P18-million for the purchase of the tablets and/or cellular phones and while the amount is quite big, they are hoping that there are friends who could help them in providing the needs of the less fortunate.
Aside from the tablets and/or phones for students from elementary to college, Duterte will also be giving away educational toys that stimulate learning for less fortunate children ages 3 to 5 years old.
