The Philippine Army remains as the public’s most trusted branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, a recent survey of the Social Weather Station showed.
It listed a net satisfaction rating of 84 percent and a trust rating of 85 percent according to the poll conducted last November.
The figures were significantly higher compared to the 78 percent net satisfaction rating and 77 percent trust rating recorded in December 2019.
The jump in numbers were credited to the social services the PA rendered the past year apart from its mandated duty of ensuring the country’s safety and security.
PA was particularly lauded for its rescue and rehabilitation operations during the onslaught of disasters such as typhoons Quinta, Rolly, and Ulysses and their disaster relief efforts during the Taal Volcano eruption.
Also recognized were the Army’s continuing counter-terrorism and anti-insurgency measures particularly against the Abu Sayyaf Group and New People’s Army and its non-stop efforts in helping the government battle the coronavirus disease pandemic.
“The Philippine Army welcomes the trust and appreciation of the Filipino people. As the new year progresses, rest assured that we will intensify our pursuit for operational excellence for the betterment of our nation,” Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, PA commanding general, said.
