Pinky Tobiano – A chemist who cares

Published
2 months agoon

To always love with a grateful heart” is a motto that aptly fits Pinky Tobiano, a chemist, entrepreneur, chief executive officer of three companies and mother to two children.
A cancer survivor, Pinky established Qualibet Testing Services, an all-Filipino company with chemists and microbiologists who test food, water, cosmetics, feeds, drugs and other materials that people come in contact with in their daily lives. As its chief operating officer, she proudly shares that her advocacy and that of Qualibest is “to guarantee the safety of every Filipino consumer.”
She founded Pinky Cares Foundation, for which she is very well known, “after my grandmother passed away. I adopted the then Golden Acres Home for the Abandoned Elderly (Now GRACES) and help with the care of the 370 abandoned elderly persons residing there. We also care for the orphans at Reception Center for Children. In addition, we assist with the chemotherapy of some cancer patients.”
To broaden the reach of her public assistance efforts, she started her own online show, Grateful Tuesdays, with Yeng Constantino, “where we assist those who have been greatly affected by the pandemic and by the recent typhoons.”
As holidays have come and gone, the best gift she has received, she says, “was when my mom and I were both declared cancer-free. We had cancer the same year in 2005, and it was the most challenging time for my family. In 2008 , by God›s grace ,we were both healed and declared cancer free.
Pinky deserves the blessings she has received because she too has been a constant source of joy to others.
She lives a simple life, unencumbered by the complexities of modernization. Instead she has stuck by time-tested principles and values such as love, compassion, respect and readiness to be of help to others. That’s Pinky for you and these are her lifestyle choices:
Favorite clothing during the lockdown — “I like wearing creations of Rollie Ducusin and Patricia Santos.”

Skin care secret — “I always have sufficient sleep and I drink lots of water.”
